HRC 100/200 Series T-Headed bars are manufactured by a friction-forging process, under strict quality control to ensure a zero-slip connection between head and bar that exceeds the actual tensile strength of A706 reinforcement bar.
Head sizes are in accordance with ASTM A 970 (1997-2004) and Caltrans Full Size (9Ab) to transfer the full rebar force into multi-axial stresses in the concrete beneath the head without crushing the concrete or bending the head. Conservatively used when 4Ab heads are required.
For the designer
Concentrated anchorage of the actual (real) tensile strength of the rebar — in the T-head.
The full ductility of the rebar is maintained —the very basis for a robust structure.
Reduces congestion by avoiding anchorage bends and hooks
Possible to use fewer larger bars
Excellent confinement effect
Can easily be combined with any other HRC Product series at the other rebar end
On the construction site
Straight bars are safer to handle than bend bars
Fast installation of headed bars!
Design with fewer bars and no anchoring bends reduces congestion and leads to improved casting conditions
